Maintenance Technician at Central Valley Cheese Inc Turlock, CA

DescriptionPosition SummaryThis position is responsible for providing maintenance to all plant processing and packaging equipment, plant utilities, and building and grounds, which include boilers, refrigeration, coolers, HVAC, air compressors, fire suppression system, electrical/pneumatic controls and switch gear, water system and sewer, vehicles and fork lifts.
Responsibilities (not all inclusive)o Perform daily preventative maintenance of equipment and systems.
o Repair of mechanical and building equipment in timely manner to limit production loss.
o Troubleshoot and repair of hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical equipment.
o Install equipment per layout drawings.
o Prepare parts list for ordering as required.
o Help plant production personnel troubleshoot production problems.
RequirementsTechnical Competencieso Knowledge and application of Good Manufacturing Practices.
o Ability to pay strong attention to detail and multitask effectively.
o Skills in and knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
o Ability to weld stainless and make food grade repairs.
o Ability to read and understand blueprints.
o Good problem solving skills, ability to follow and use root cause analysis.
o Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, procedures and related documents as needed).
Qualificationso One or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education experience.
Non-Technical Competencieso Ability to pay strong attention to detail multi-task effectively.
o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
o Good to excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills.
o Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
